BOB CORT

PRESIDENT

Mr. Cort has over thirty years of management and consulting experience, with an extensive operations and financial analysis background. While the majority of Mr. Cort’s recent clients have been in food processing businesses, he also has had extensive experience in energy services, health care, and other manufacturing environments.

Prior to forming Cort Consulting Group, Mr. Cort worked for Compton & Associates where he developed significant expertise in analyzing Dairy financial and operating performance. Before that, Mr. Cort was the Director of Information Services for the Graduate Health System in Philadelphia where he was responsible for all computer systems, LANs, PCs, voice and data communications networks, and related technical and operational support functions including Management Engineering.

Mr. Cort also served as Senior Consultant with Touche Ross & Co (currently Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Limited, or just Deloitte) where his responsibilities included directing systems engagements for manufacturers and distribution companies, and operations improvement engagements for manufacturers, distributors and service companies. He also performed numerous financial and operational analyses for public and private organizations.

After graduating from Brown University with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Mr. Cort received his MBA from the Wharton Business School at the University of Pennsylvania.

BUD CARY

SENIOR PARTNER

Mr. Cary has over 30 Years of Management and Advisory Experience. His background includes Accounting and Operations with a focus on financial & operating analysis including product and customer profitability as well as due diligence related to acquisitions and divestitures. He has worked on projects including food (dairy and other), energy (gas, ethanol and solar), and manufacturing. He has spearheaded numerous projects related to the preparation of long range strategic and financial plans as well as capital project evaluations.

He has worked with Cort Consulting Group (and its predecessor Compton & Associates, Inc.) for several years, as well as Deloitte Consulting, Mid-Atlantic Region. He also is a principal at Cape Horn Advisors. His past work experience includes Director of Financial Planning, Analysis and MIS for a privately held global manufacturer, and a Senior Consultant at Touche Ross & Co.

Mr. Cary received his MBA (Management and Finance) at The Wharton School, a Bachelor of Arts (English), at Colgate University, and an Associate of Arts (International Studies), Franklin College, Lugano, Switzerland.

JIM MAZUR

SENIOR PARTNER

Mr. Mazur has nearly thirty years of management and consulting experience including management positions in auditing and banking, and over ten years in process manufacturing companies. He has developed and implemented information and financial control systems, generated cost savings through operational analyses and related plant modifications, assisted companies in acquisition and divestiture strategy and due diligence, and been actively involved in several new business launches.

Prior to joining Cort Consulting Group, Mr. Mazur was the chief financial officer of a process manufacturer and distributor of giftware items throughout North America and Europe. Previously, Mr. Mazur was with H.P. Hood, a leading dairy foods company in the eastern United States.

Mr. Mazur is a Certified Public Accountant who earned his M.B.A. in Finance, with distinction, from Bentley College and his B.S. in Accounting from Indiana University.

Mr. Mazur is a director of Perimeter Brand Packaging, a Massachusetts-based packaging development company; he served for nearly ten years as a member of the Board of Advisors of Taggies, Inc., a provider of toys and accessories for infants in North America and Europe, until the company’s acquisition in 2011.

CORY DURLING

Corey has spent his entire life in dairy food and milk processing as a fourth generation owner of Durling Farms (now Readington Farms in Whitehouse, NJ), that was founded by Corey’s great-grandfather in 1880. Corey ran and ultimately sold the Durling family’s milk processing plant to its largest customer, Wakefern Food Corp (Shoprite Supermarkets). Readington Farms now processes milk for the Durling family’s 160+ convenient Quick Chek Food Stores chain currently run by Corey’s brother, Dean.

In 1990, after the sale of the milk plant, Corey moved his family to Poland where he founded and ran a yogurt processing, distribution and sales company in southwestern Poland. He returned to New Jersey after successfully selling the business to Yoplait in 1996.

Upon his return to the US, Corey founded Dairy Tech, a dairy food consulting company, that helps retail clients address dairy products’ cost, sourcing, co-pack arrangements and category management.

KAROL SZOT

Prior to co-founding Dairy Tech, Karol ran his own software firm selling financial and cost accounting packages to the corrugated box industry in the US and Canada. As a principal in Dairy Tech, Karol utilized his extensive computer programming and cost accounting skills to develop a vast database of dairy related product cost information from across the country and Canada. In addition, Karol developed a program to monitor nation-wide raw milk pricing that is provided to retail clients on a subscription basis to help them track pricing within their dairy product supply contracts.
